New training sessions run by the Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) are being organised for agronomists and farm advisers. Places for the first sessions have already been filled which shows the huge level of interest in the CFE.

The training sessions will be led by the RSPB and GWCT with contributions from FWAG, Natural England and the Environment Agency. They will explain the campaign aims giving details of the targets and actions farmers can take while providing a deeper understanding of the three key themes; resource protection, farmland birds and farm wildlife.

"All farmers, land managers and advisers have a key role to play in ensuring the Campaign for the Farmed Environment is a success. The Campaign is therefore challenging advisers and agronomists to ensure they understand the environmental challenges facing farming and the tough targets this campaign needs to achieve. We are urging agronomists and advisers to encourage their clients to participate in the Campaign by taking out an ELS agreement, or undertake some form of voluntary environmental management or maintain and record uncropped land." National Farmers Union President Peter Kendall.

The initial training events are taking place on Monday November 23 the Allerton Project, Loddington, hosted by the GWCT and on Thursday November 26 at Hope Farm, Cambridgeshire hosted by the RSPB.
