The National Holstein Show, scheduled for 15 April 2008, has been forced to cancel due to bluetongue restrictions.

Staffordshire County Showground, where the popular event is usually held, now lies within the bluetongue surveillance zone. As a result only breeders in this zone could have competed at the event.

Holstein UK, organisers of the event, decided that holding the show without competitors from outside the zone would only result in 'half a show', and that an early decision was best for all concerned.
