A recent survey conducted by the National Farmers Union (NFU) on attendants of the Food and Drink Exposition 2010 shows more than eight out of ten people in the food industry are aware of the Red Tractor logo.

Approximately 80,000 buyers from the food service, retail and wholesale markets attended the show at the NEC. Among visitors to the NFU stand, 83% were aware of the Red Tractor logo prior to attending. The survey also revealed that 62% of visitors recognised that high animal welfare, environmental and production standards applied to Red Tractor assured foods.

“The Food and Drink Exposition is the biggest show of its kind in the UK and an important platform to communicate how British farmers produce food to world leading standards. We had lots of excellent enquiries from food manufacturers, caterers and public sector buyers who all wanted to understand how they could incorporate SALSA or Red Tractor standards into their business. We already work extremely closely with the food industry to encourage them to source farm assured food and the show has created more excellent opportunities to continue this work.” NFU Food Chain Unit Chairperson Lee Woodger.
