Addressing a national protest attended by thousands of farmers in Dublin, the IFA President, Mr Padraig Walshe said the consequences of a Mandelson deal would be the destruction of the Irish beef industry and of jobs and wealth generation in towns and the wider community on an unprecedented scale, with 50,000 jobs being lost in the food industry and services, and a further 50,000 farmers being put out of business.

 Minister Micheal Martin, Donald Cronin (Managing Director), Cian MacSweeny The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin, T.D., presented the awards at the 10th Annual Genesis Enterprise Programme (GEP) 2008 Awards & Showcase, at Cork Institute of Technology on Monday 14th April. With over 3,500 registered members, FarmingPages.com received more than 3 times as many visitors than other popular agricultural websites last year. FarmingPages.com are currently getting ready to launch an arsenal of innovative services which will make the day to day running of farms an awful lot easier. |
